This town in southern Finland's Uusimaa region, a short distance north of Helsinki, Hyvinkää is home to the Finnish Railway Museum and a 1961 church among its well-known buildings, and has historically been associated with the artists Helene Schjerfbeck and Tyko Sallinen, who lived and worked here in the early 20th century. The town sits along the Vantaa River and the main rail line, with city planning that has long emphasised recreational and nature access.
