Køge
Denmark
A seaport town on Køge Bay, a short S-train ride southwest of Copenhagen, with a walkable old centre dense with half-timbered houses. The market square holds the 1550 town hall and Kong Hans' Gård from 1634, while the Gothic Sankt Nicolai Kirke, built between 1250 and 1300, serves as the town's landmark. A half-timbered house dated to 1527 in Kirkestræde is among the oldest of its kind in Denmark. Ferries run from the harbour to Bornholm.
