Kalaw

This hill station in southern Shan State, Myanmar, built by the British during the colonial era, Kalaw sits high in the mountains and offers a walkable centre with a concentration of historic churches, cafés, and restaurants. A stream running through the area drains into Inle Lake nearby, and the surrounding highlands are within easy reach. The town also served historically as a waypoint on routes between Shan State and central Myanmar.
