Pindaya
Myanmar (Burma)
Pindaya's limestone caves, known as the Pindaya Caves, hold thousands of Buddha images consecrated over centuries and are the town's main draw. The capital of the Danu Self-Administered Zone in Shan State, east-central Myanmar, it sits at the foot of a mountain range beside a lake, with highland terrain rising to the east. A rotating market visits every fifth day, adding a local rhythm to the small town centre.
