Kandila
Αιτωλοακαρνανία · Greece
Little village in western Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece, set among olive groves at the foot of the Acarnanian Mountains and a short distance from the Ionian Sea. Kandila was formerly the seat of the municipality of Alyzia, and the ruins of ancient Alyzia lie within the village. It divides into two distinct quarters — Upper and Lower Kandila — and holds an annual festival on the feast day of Saint Paraskevi each July.
