Kretinga

One of the oldest towns in western Lithuania's Samogitia region, Kretinga sits a short distance east of the Baltic Sea resort of Palanga and north of the port city of Klaipėda. Designated an urban heritage monument, it has been repeatedly rebuilt over the centuries, so most of what visitors see today is modern. It serves as the administrative centre of Kretinga District and holds Catholic and Evangelical Lutheran parishes.
