Lipcani

Lipcani is the westernmost city in Moldova, sitting on the Prut River in the country's northwest Briceni district. Its name derives from the Lipkan Tatars who once inhabited the area and were resettled here in 1699 from Kamianets. The riverside position makes it a natural stopping point at Moldova's far western edge.
