Llanuwchllyn

A tiny Welsh village at the southern end of Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) in mountain terrain, Llanuwchllyn is the headquarters of the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway, based at the former Great Western Railway station. The village was the birthplace of Welsh-language author and educationalist Owen Morgan Edwards, and the nearby Roman fort of Caer Gai was traditionally associated with Sir Kay of Arthurian legend. The parish church of St Deiniol is a Grade II* listed building, as is Caer Gai itself.
