One of the smallest and oldest towns in Lower Silesia, Lubomierz has held municipal rights since 1291 and retains its medieval street layout. The town is known across Poland as the filming location for the beloved comedy *Sami swoi* and hosts a Comedy Film Festival. Several historic churches stand within its compact centre, and the surrounding landscape of south-western Poland puts mountain views and UNESCO-listed sites of the wider region within easy reach.
