Matlock

This small Derbyshire county town sits in the south-eastern Peak District, where the River Derwent runs through mountain terrain and scenic viewpoints are close at hand. Heritage-dense and well-supplied with cafés and restaurants for its size, Matlock is also the administrative headquarters of Derbyshire County Council. The spa resort of Matlock Bath lies immediately to the south, with the historic mill village of Cromford — near a UNESCO World Heritage site — just beyond.
