This small hamlet in the Gard department of southern France, Montclus sits along the Cèze river and holds membership in Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. The surrounding gorges and garrigue landscape fall within three Natura 2000 protected areas. Two listed monuments anchor the village itself: a château classified in 1977 and the Mas du Grand Galès, listed in 1990. Vineyards and mountain terrain lie close by, and the wider Occitanie region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
