Known as a Village du Livre — a book village — Montolieu is a little commune in the Aude department of southern France, set on the southern edge of the Massif central's Montagne Noire. The village has three protected historic monuments, including the 1972-listed church of Saint-André and a Royal Manufactory, and sits within reach of Carcassonne. A Natura 2000 valley, the Vallée du Lampy, lies nearby, along with vineyards and scenic hill country.
