Montsinéry-Tonnégrande
French Guiana
A small commune in French Guiana, southwest of Cayenne, with a botanical garden and walking trails through the surrounding landscape. The area also holds a sobering piece of colonial history: the Prison of the Annamites, an internment camp for Indochinese prisoners that operated between 1931 and 1944, once stood roughly 38 km outside town and was connected to it by railroad.
