The Pannonhalma Archabbey, Hungary's oldest surviving religious and educational institution and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, draws visitors to this small town in western Hungary's Győr-Moson-Sopron county. The Benedictine monastery crowns a hill above vineyards, with scenic viewpoints across the surrounding countryside, and the town centre has cafés and restaurants for a half-day or full-day visit.
