Rogatec

This modest Slovenian border village in the Savinja region sits between the Donačka Gora hills to the north and the Sotla river to the south, in wine country with mountain terrain close by. The older part of the settlement runs along a narrow valley where the Draganja stream meets the Sotla, and a rail line connects it to Celje. Croatia lies just across the river, a border that became freely crossable in 2023 when Croatia joined the Schengen Area.
