Rozmital pod Tremsinem
Czechia
This tiny Bohemian town in the foothills of the Brdy hills, Rožmitál pod Třemšínem has a well-preserved historic centre protected as an urban monument zone, dominated by Rožmitál Castle and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The composer Jakub Jan Ryba lived and worked here as a teacher. The Podzámecký pond sits at the foot of the castle, and the Třemšín peak — whose name the town carries — rises nearby. Each year the town hosts the Festival of Queen Johanka, with a craft fair and historical procession.
