Ruvo di Puglia, a town on the Murge plateau in Apulia's Bari metropolitan area, holds the Jatta National Archaeological Museum, whose Hellenistic collection includes the Vase of Talos, a symbol of the city. The town also houses a contemporary art gallery dedicated to local expressionist and cubist painter Domenico Cantatore, and a Book Museum at Palazzo Caputi with medieval and Renaissance volumes. Part of the Alta Murgia national park, it produces olive oil and wine, and its Holy Week celebrations are recognised among Italy's intangible cultural heritage.
