This compact town in the Lot department of southern France, Saint-Céré sits on the River Bave with vineyards in the surrounding countryside and scenic views toward the Quercy hills. The castle of Saint-Laurent-les-Tours, where the artist Jean Lurçat lived and worked and ran a secret radio for the French Resistance, still holds a collection of his works. The town centre has a concentration of cafés and restaurants for its size.
