Santo Domingo

Chile

Santo Domingo, also known as Rocas de Santo Domingo, is a coastal resort town on Chile's central shoreline where the Maipo River meets the Pacific Ocean. Its beach — the longest on the central coast — features dark sand and a golf club, while the rocky outcrop of La Puntilla holds the ancient Piedra del Sol, an Intihuatana stone said to have been a site of Inca worship. The surrounding commune is largely rural, with huaso traditions still present.
