Scanno

A modest Abruzzo village with a strong photographic reputation, Scanno sits beside a lake in the mountains of the L'Aquila province, partly within the boundaries of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. It carries an unusual concentration of churches for its size, a handful of cafés and restaurants, and scenic viewpoints in the surrounding hills. It is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia — Italy's register of its most beautiful villages.
