Small Norwegian village on Lake Seljord in Telemark, known for two things above all: the Dyrsku'n market, held annually since 1866 and drawing large crowds each summer, and Selma, the lake's legendary sea serpent. The market began as a farm-animal show and has grown into a major fair with vendors, crafts, food, and amusement rides. The surrounding terrain is mountainous, with scenic viewpoints in the wider area, and a UNESCO World Heritage site lies within the broader region.
