Skara
Sweden
One of Sweden's oldest cities, Skara is a little town in Västergötland with a long ecclesiastical and educational history — it serves as the seat of the Skara diocese and is home to Katedralskolan, one of the country's oldest cathedral schools. The former county of Skaraborg took its name from a fortress near the town. A compact central core holds cafés and restaurants, and the town has enough independent traveller interest to warrant its own Wikivoyage entry.
