Stakliškės

Lithuania

Stakliškės mead — a honey-and-grain drink produced in this Lithuanian village and registered as a protected geographical indication by the European Union — is the most specific reason to visit this tiny settlement east of Prienai. The village also holds a Holy Trinity church dating to 1776, a late-19th-century maltings tower from a former brewery, and two Iron Age hill forts to the east.
