Taşköprü, a town in Kastamonu Province in Turkey's Black Sea region, takes its name from a seven-arched stone bridge built over the Gök River in the 13th century by the Chobanids — a structure that still carries automobile traffic today. The town is also known for its garlic, sold under the protected designation of origin name Taşköprü Sarımsağı.
