Tryavna

Tryavna is a small Bulgarian town in the Balkan Mountains known for its well-preserved National Revival architecture, with well over a hundred listed buildings, monuments, and museums concentrated in its compact centre. Traditional hand crafts are still practised here, and the town is the birthplace of writer Pencho Slaveykov and revolutionary Angel Kanchev. It sits in the Tryavna river valley on the northern slopes of the Balkan range, close to Gabrovo, with UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
