Tunquen
Chile
This largely undeveloped beach on Chile's Valparaíso coast, Tunquén has remained free of the housing and infrastructure that lines much of the Central Littoral. The area holds pre-Hispanic archaeological sites including shell middens and tombs, and has been investigated for possible evidence of Polynesian presence in Chile before European contact. The wider Valparaíso region contains a UNESCO World Heritage site.
