Ulvila

Satakunta · Finland

One of Finland's six medieval cities and the country's third oldest, Ulvila in Satakunta held town status from 1365 until Pori absorbed its privileges in 1558, then regained them in 2000 after a gap of 442 years. The medieval fieldstone St. Olaf's Church, dedicated to the saint depicted in the town's arms, is among the best-preserved of its kind in Finland. The town sits a short distance southeast of Pori.
