Vestervig

Denmark

Vestervig Abbey Church, said to be the largest village church in Denmark and all of Scandinavia, stands at the centre of this modest village in Thy, North Jutland. The church served as a cathedral until 1130, when the see moved to Børglum, and remains a remnant of the former monastery. A church music school has operated in the village since 1980, and the surrounding area offers views across the Limfjord landscape.
