Vimperk
Czechia
Vimperk is a tiny South Bohemian town at the foot of the Šumava mountains, long known for its glass-making and printing traditions and its position on the historic Golden Trail salt-and-trade route from Passau to Prachatice. The preserved medieval centre — a sloping main square with a town tower, Gothic church, and sections of the old town walls — sits on a rocky spur above the Volyňka river, and the town serves as a base for excursions into the Šumava region.
