Vrbnik
Croatia
A medieval walled village on the island of Krk, Croatia, set on a limestone outcrop above the Adriatic and known for its local white wine, Vrbnička žlahtina. With a history stretching back some 900 years, Vrbnik served as a Frankopan stronghold and a centre of Glagolitic culture. The village has a notable concentration of churches for its size, a handful of cafés and restaurants, and views across the Vinodol Channel toward the Croatian mainland.
