Antequera
Málaga · Spain
An Andalusian town whose UNESCO-listed dolmens — Menga, Viera, and El Romeral — date back more than 6,000 years, Antequera also sits beside El Torcal, a karst landscape of eroded limestone formations considered among the most significant in Europe. The walkable centre holds a dense concentration of churches, convents, and palaces across multiple periods and styles. Roughly midway between Málaga and Granada, it works as a day trip from either city or as a stopover between them.
