Beuvry
Pas-de-Calais · France
This small town in northern France's Pas-de-Calais, Beuvry is traversed by the Canal d'Aire à la Bassée and borders the city of Béthune. The commune holds four listed historic monuments, including the classified church of Saint-Martin, the farm-château de la Belle Forière, the Beuvry windmill, and the Manoir de l'Estracelles. The town carries both the 1914–18 and 1939–45 Croix de Guerre, and has an unusual administrative history: briefly merged with Béthune in 1993, it regained independence in 1997 following local opposition.
