Bsharri, high in the mountains of northern Lebanon on the edge of the Qadisha Valley, is the birthplace of the Lebanese-American poet and writer Kahlil Gibran and home to a museum dedicated to him. The town also holds a cedar reserve containing some of Lebanon's remaining ancient cedar trees, and sits within a region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
