Hatton
Sri Lanka
A major hub of Sri Lanka's tea industry, Hatton sits high in the hill country of the Nuwara Eliya District and is colloquially known as the tea capital of the country, serving as the central point for surrounding upcountry growing regions including Maskeliya, Bogawantalawa, and Dickoya. Founded during British colonial times to serve coffee and later tea estates, the town also functions as a gateway to Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) and the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, with several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
