Horuphav
Denmark
A former fishing village on the island of Als in southern Denmark, Høruphav has kept its narrow, winding lanes and modest historic houses at its core, now surrounded by a marina with several hundred berths. The nearby nature area of Trillen — a sand spit encircling a bird-rich lake — is designated an EU bird protection zone and wildlife reserve, with a bird tower overlooking the water. A beech forest lies immediately west of the village, and the Gendarmstien walking trail connects here to a longer coastal route.
