Itri
Latina · Italy
Sitting in a valley between the Monti Aurunci and the Gulf of Gaeta, Itri is a tiny agricultural town in Lazio's Latina province with a photogenic medieval castle at its older core. The town is divided by the Pontone river, and its residents speak a local variant of the Neapolitan language known as Itrano. Parts of the historic quarter were damaged during World War II, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
