Lerma
Burgos · Spain
A pocket-sized Castilian village above the Arlanza river valley, Lerma is the headquarters of the Arlanza DOP wine denomination and holds a historic centre — known as the Villa Ducal de Lerma — whose 17th-century monuments were built under the Duke of Lerma. The old town carries protected heritage status and has been listed among the most beautiful villages in Spain since 2018, with several churches, scenic views over the valley, and a café scene substantial for a settlement its size.
