Montagu
South Africa
Founded in 1851 at the confluence of the Keisie and Kingna rivers, Montagu is a Western Cape wine-country town in the Western Little Karoo known for its hot mineral springs, orchards, and vineyards. The compact centre has a concentration of cafés, restaurants, and historic churches, and the surrounding Langeberg and Waboomsberg ranges make it a base for mountain access. The farming district north of town, known as Koo, produces apples, pears, apricots, and peaches.
