Myczkowce

Poland

A pocket-sized village in the mountains of south-eastern Poland, Myczkowce sits directly on the water in the Subcarpathian region. Its most distinctive feature is a monumental church built between 1910 and 1914, designed as a synthesis of Ukrainian, Byzantine, and Romanesque architectural traditions to replace an earlier wooden structure from 1815. After the deportation of the Ukrainian community, the building served as a storage facility before being reconsecrated as a Roman Catholic church in 1979.
