Sevnica
Slovenia
A little town on the left bank of the Sava River in central Slovenia, Sevnica sits in wine country with a café-and-restaurant core and mountain terrain close by. The old town clusters beneath Sevnica Castle on Castle Hill, while the main square holds a lower castle dated 1613, a 17th-century statue of St. Martin, a neo-Romanesque church of St. Nicholas, and the church of St. Florian, built in 1443.
