Sigulda

A resort town on the Gauja river valley, Sigulda sits just over an hour from Riga by train and packs a striking amount into a little area: three castles, forest walks, a cable car, and a bobsleigh track, all reachable on foot. The surrounding territory also takes in the ancient centres of Turaida and Krimulda, and the town has a café and restaurant scene that is well stocked for its size.
