Dingle
Ireland
This small Atlantic fishing town on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry packs an unusual number of cafés and restaurants into its centre for a place its size, alongside a working harbour. The only town on the peninsula, it sits in one of Ireland's Irish-speaking Gaeltacht regions, where around one in seven residents speaks the language daily. Dolphin-watching trips run from the harbour, a tradition that dates to 1983 when a wild bottlenose dolphin began seeking out human contact in the bay.
